Now accepting registrations for September 2012 in my North End preschool home daycare, where our motto is "play to learn, learn to play, our caring & sharing daycare way". Space is limited to parttime only, for a child age 3+, beginning September 4th, with possible early summer entrance or transitional visiting while clients are on holidays. My environment is set up to provide the best of both childcare options, the small sibling style environment in a family home with an early educational design and daily activities similar to those in a center and kindergarten classroom. Each year I prepare my own circle\learning program for all ages and this year (2011-2012) we are learning "The 3 R's of Preschool: Rhythm, Read & Rhyme". From learning how to clap and march to the beat of different instruments, learning letters and sounds through song and action and learning silly Mother Goose rhymes and acting them out, I also offer a morning of A-Z Recipes where children help prepare their own snack and a process art time daily.
I've been working 26 years in childcare including 5 years in a center and loving each and every day. My years and quality of service have been recognized by professionals and peers as I have recieved my 20 Years Lifetime Children's Service Pin and was named the Early Childhood Educators Children's Champion Award Winner in 2004.
My private daycare space includes the lower level of our home with a large playhouse room with book & puppet center, block center, dramatic play area, flannel board, music center, gross motor area and free play toys. Our second room is our preschool room with art & creative center, fine motor & sensory center, library center, chalk & easel area, large wall abacus and large learning shelf for free choice activities. This room also has washroom and kitchen area. Our large fenced yard has large patio with riding toys, grass area with assorted climbers, a swingset with assorted swings for varied ages, a playhouse, sand area, lots of gross motor toys and space for playing tag, catch and running around getting those sillies out. We are located across from a large open field and splash pad & have a great park around the corner. Our daily schedule includes free play in playhouse room, circle time, snacks, learning time in preschool room, outdoor play, lunch, rest & nap time and individual learning time.
Each month I provide all parents with a newsletter and monthly activity calendar as well as flyers to participate in the Scholastic Book Order program. We take part in atleast one monthly field trip, storytime @ the library weekly as schedules permit us to, as well as have show'n'tell days, fun days such as pj day, color day, hat day, etc. and special event & activity days such as birthday parties, holiday parties, Earth Day Litter Pick-up, spring hikes, Christmas Family Daycare Parties, Daycare Family Barbecue & Pool Party, Summer Celebration Performance Night or Graduation (for those heading off to school) & more.
Each day is filled with love & laughter where the children experience caring & sharing together and make friendships that can carry on beyond their early years.
