Why ? – No middleman !! Yes, you can find cheaper units BUT you will not find a better, more versatile unit than this one. Don’t risk your life or valuable collector car with a flimsy piece of crap! (519) 756-3817 Stan. Some tidbits about rotisseries in general ... You may see other ads saying something to the effect of “... unlike those cheap Chinese units ...”. The truth is that there are NO Chinese units on the North American market AT ALL, none, zip, nadda! There simply isn’t a big enough market – if there were, Princess Auto would be selling them!! Beware of what other units are made of. Yes, there are less expensive units that come with mounts and connectors and pretty powder coat BUT, look at the gauge of material they’re made of. Units made of 1/8” tubing in the structural areas should be avoided like the plague. Oh sure, there’s a warranty ... “return to factory” ... in the U.S. ... at your expense, and it doesn’t cover damage to your car. Not worth the paper its written on !! The cost to paint or powdercoat one of these units is around $200. - $250.. Wouldn’t you rather have that put into extra material and strength or features? And what’s that paint or powdercoat hiding? My units require two connector bars to keep everything stable and square should you have to move the car around. If you move a car on a single bar unit and one corner caster catches on gravel or something, everything wants to twist and stress – not good! Center casters: if you read and ad that says “... centre casters to avoid sagging”, keep shopping! A properly built rotisserie will have ALL the vehicle weight transferring directly down the uprights on either end. If there’s any sagging then either a) the rotisserie is a piece of crap b) the vehicle is too rotten to be on a rotisserie or c) the vehicle has been mounted incorrectly. Pneumatic casters: these units are built to take 3000 pounds. Pneumatic casters that will take that weight are HUGE - about 16” in diameter - and expensive. Haven’t had any issues with the wheels I’m using. ‘nuf said! Universal mounts: no such thing. Sure, some mounts might fit more than one car but NOTHING will fit all cars. I believe in making mounts specific for each vehicle, a proper fit ensures the vehicle is properly and safely supported.
